What you’ll find inside
CCNA 200-301 Official Cert Guide Library, 1st Edition by Wendell Odom brings together the two-volume study guide for the CCNA 200-301 exam. The supplied PDF includes both the Volume 1 and Volume 2 texts. Its contents follow network fundamentals through configuration, routing and services, giving candidates a reference for reviewing concepts named in the 200-301 exam blueprint. Always compare the edition and exam code with current certification requirements before relying on an older guide.
Coverage across the two-volume library
The first volume introduces TCP/IP, Ethernet, WANs, command-line use, switching, VLANs, spanning tree, IPv4 subnetting and routing, OSPF, IPv6 and wireless networking. The second volume continues with access-control lists, security services, device management, NAT, quality of service, LAN and WAN architecture, cloud concepts and network automation. Together, these chapter areas give learners a route from core networking language to configuration and troubleshooting topics.

The ebook itself is great, well laid out, and has great info. But if you plan to rely on the PTP app to use the network simulators and test prep software, do not buy it from . Weeks of being told “The code will come, just wait” and “your concern has been escalated and you’ll hear back in 24-48 hours”. No code ever came. Just hoping I’d eventually give up and never bother another of the reps again. They then switched their tune to “It’s a 3rd party ebook, so Cisco has to send it” (the ebook explicitly states that buying the Kindle version will yield a code being sent directly from , so someone is mistaken) Save yourself the headache, and buy it directly from Cisco.

The ebook was ok if you’re a person that doesn’t know a thing about Cisco. I’m an expert level and, if you are too, this ebook is probably a waste of time. For that a 4 stars review.

Great ebook so far. The material is deep enough to help you grasp concepts while not being too drawn out. My opinion might change once I’m farther along in the ebook, but my initial impression is that I like the writing style, like the amount of detail on a given subject, and love the way the ebook is written (especially the various appendix sections for quick reference.)

Well worth the money two volumes packed with goodies
I like the depth and easy way that concepts are presented, not like a dry ebook, but more like a complete course of study, review and evaluation.

I find Wendell Odom’s ebooks the absolute best way to prepare for Cisco exams. I’ve done CCENT and CCNA and used almost exclusively information from the ebooks (only need to do network simulation somewhere else as the included free simulator version is quite limited). The ebook itself is high quality, with good paper and printing. I appreciate all the additional materials that come with it – practice tests, review materials, etc. Another perk is big discounts for other materials when registering this ebook to your Ciscopress account after purchase.
