What you’ll find inside
Cognitive Psychology: Connecting Mind, Research, and Everyday Experience, 5th Edition presents cognitive psychology through the research and examples used to explain mental processes. E. Bruce Goldstein’s book connects the study of cognition with everyday situations, helping readers relate formal theories to perception, attention, memory, language, problem solving and judgment. This listing describes the supplied PDF; it does not promise access to a separate course platform or online code.
See how the field studies the mind
The opening chapters introduce cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience before moving through perception and attention. Later chapters examine short-term and working memory, the structure and retrieval of long-term memory, conceptual knowledge, visual imagery, language, problem solving, creativity, judgment and reasoning. This organization offers a clear path from how information is noticed and represented to how people use it to think and decide.
Use research examples to review concepts
Publisher materials describe a mix of landmark and newer studies alongside examples, demonstrations, methods, self-check questions and key terms. Those recurring features can help readers connect a theory with the kind of evidence used to evaluate it and revisit concepts while studying. The supplied file’s title page names E. Bruce Goldstein; Cengage’s 5th-edition catalog record also credits Greg Francis and Ian Neath, so compare the exact file against your course’s required citation.
Confirm the required version before selecting
This is the fifth edition, published in 2019. Course lists may specify another edition or a bundled learning platform, and digital access to such materials should never be assumed from a PDF listing. Check the edition, file format and any separate course requirements before choosing the book. The fixed-layout PDF is best suited to a screen that can display textbook pages and figures clearly.

Although the ebook was new, it was supposed to come with an access code so you could do the quizzes via Cengage. There didn’t appear to be a code provided by the seller which is unfortunate. I haven’t started to use the ebook yet because my course doesn’t start for another week.

This is an excellent college-level cognitive processes text, that is NOT information you could just reliably find online for free.
