Topics across maternity and pediatric nursing
The book is organized around family-centred, community-based nursing and follows care from women’s health through pregnancy, labour and birth, postpartum care and the newborn period. Its contents include reproductive health, common reproductive concerns, fetal development, pregnancy adaptations and nursing management during pregnancy and labour. The pediatric portion extends the discussion to growth, development, health assessment and nursing care for children with health alterations. These broad sections make it relevant to students who need to connect maternity and pediatric nursing within one course sequence.
Because the text uses Canadian framing and terminology, readers should check that its content matches the country, curriculum and edition required by their instructor. The second edition is the edition named in the supplied file; it may not reflect later clinical guidance, institutional policies or current practice. Use current professional guidance and your instructor’s materials for clinical decisions.

I tried so hard to get through the semester without buying this ebook but I finally caved in and immediately regretted putting the purchase off. It is so detailed and clear that I had really been missing out by relying on the ATI text and lecture.

Freaking long and huge textbook. It was mandatory. Had a lot of useless and repetitive stuff, but if you were able to get past all the pretentious big words you could get what the author was trying to say. I wish I could remember all of it though. But >2000 pages, I think I barely retained 10 pages from the whole ebook. I liked this one a bit more than my other nursing school ebooks because it had quite a few pictures and diagrams unlike other textbooks that just have gigantic blocks of words with no breaks in between.

Ebook was very easy to read. Good examples were given and easy to read paragraphs. Although not a whole lot of images on the pages the examples gave a mental picture of what was being described.
